As 2025 comes to a close, here’s a recap of the latest Cloud Phone news.
Smart Typing

Last week we launched @cloudmosa-inc/cloudphone-types, an NPM library that includes TypeScript type declarations for non-standard APIs used on Cloud Phone like those for volume management. Formatted using TSDoc syntax, this small utility includes documentation links and code snippets that will auto-complete in your IDE like VS Code’s IntelliSense. Better yet, since this library is added to the devDependencies section of your package.json file, it won’t increase your application’s bundle size.
Smart Features. Small Phone
In October 2025, HMD launched the world’s first “hybrid phone,” the HMD Touch 4G with an MSRP of ₹3,999 (~$44 USD). With a small 3.2" touchscreen, this phone is an affordable way to stay connected, keep up-to-date, and be entertained. A reincarnation of the Nokia Asha series, the HMD Touch 4G includes Cloud Phone, with access to familiar apps and services like YouTube, Facebook, Amazon, X, and Google Maps.
The Gift of Cloud Phone
In collaboration with the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation, the Vinh Long Provincial Youth Union, and the Vietnam Youth Federation, CloudMosa has donated 100 Cloud Phones and 4G SIM cards residents of the Vinh Long province, Vietnam. This contribution helps bridge the digital divide by connecting rural and remote community members with simple, modern technologies.
‘Clouding Up’ the next billion internet users
Digital inclusion isn’t just good policy – it’s smart business. Despite increased network coverage, in India, Vietnam and the Philippines alone there are more than 600 million people remain unconnected. Cloud Phone turns basic feature phones into smart devices, without the smart phone price tag. Learn more about the #CloudUp movement.
More Streaming. More Apps. More Phones

Following the success of over-the-top (OTT) streaming services like Toon Goggles, SportsCast Africa launched on Cloud Phone. Another notable launch includes Grameenphone’s MyGP app in Bangladesh. In addition, several open-source apps have also launched on Cloud Phone like ASCIIMoon, Splix, Suno Music, and Smart Glow.
With dozens of new devices launched in the past few months, and improvements in agentic coding tools like Claude Code and OpenCode, it’s never been a better time to build apps for Cloud Phone! Getting started and build your first Cloud Phone app today.
